The future of material science on sounding-rocket flights
Abstract
Research trends in microgravity materials science are traced and the TEXUS sounding rocket program is summarized. The TEXUS program was originally intended as a space shuttle payloads preexperiment project, but its advantages of quick preparation and reduced safety requirements made it a self reliant program.
