Large-signal dynamic-stability analysis of synchronised current-controlled modulators - Application to sine-wave high-power inverters
Abstract
This paper deals with a new application of DC/DC regulators to a sine-wave output. Synchronised current control modulation in a buck configuration is described for generating an AC waveform at 50 Hz. Large signal simulation leads to the setting of a sawtooth corrective network to avoid structural instability for output waveform (V) values much greater than V/2. It is shown that small signal analysis can be used for such applications, and mathematical models for discontinuous and continous conduction modes are presented. Testing of a breadboard generating a pure sine wave without harmonic content with 85 percent efficiency is described.
