Solution of the inverse problem of laser-radiation focusing into an arbitrary curve
Abstract
The problem of laser-radiation focusing into an arbitrary curve using zonal phase plates is formulated and analyzed by the geometrical-optics method. By way of illustration, attention is given to curves with a uniform intensity distribution in which the focusing of CO2-laser radiation (10.6 microns) with a Gaussian beam intensity distribution was achieved.
