Calculation of optimal lasing regimes for CW supersonic electroionization CO lasers
Abstract
It is shown that the use of supersonic isothermal flow of the laser mixture in the active region makes it possible to achieve electroionization CO lasers with high values of energy input and physical efficiency. The use of a hybrid cooling scheme (adiabatic cooling of the mixture by means of a sequential arrangement of the turbine and supersonic nozzle) makes it possible to achieve a cycle close to the reverse Carnot cycle as well as to achieve the necessary gas temperature at the inlet to the active volume with minimum energy losses.
