Steady flow past a rotating cylinder
Abstract
Numerical solutions have been obtained for steady viscous flow past a rotating circular cylinder. Results are presented for Reynolds numbers of 5 and 20 and ratios of the speed of the surface of the cylinder to the fluid speed at infinity from 0 to 0.5. The effects of using different boundary conditions on the stream function at large distances from the cylinder are presented and discussed.
