Connection between ionospheric absorption and atmospheric structure during winter anomaly
Abstract
The statistical relationship between ionospheric absorption and atmospheric structure during the Winter Anomaly (WA) is determined for different latitudes. The dependence of the formation velocity of complex Cl on temperature is obtained, as well as the dependence of hydrogenation on the number of triplex co-collisions between molecules and caster ions. Estimates of these dependences are given in the form of ratios which are compared with experimental results from three previous studies, and some implications for theoretical models of WA ionospheric chemical processes are discussed.
