A spectroscopic study of some planetary nebulae in the Large Magellanic Cloud.
Abstract
Spectroscopic data for several bright planetaries in the Large Magellanic Cloud have been analyzed to obtain nebular plasma diagnostics and chemical abundances. Among the objects studied, P07 and P09 appear to be He- and N-rich, resembling galactic N-rich objects (Primbert's class I). Helium seems to be more abundant than in H II regions in the Large Magellanic Cloud but comparable with galactic planetaries. Ne, Ar, and probably S have abundances similar to those found in LMC H II regions; the N abundance is enhanced compared to H II regions. In some of these LMC planetaries, oxygen appears to be depleted.
