Digital surface photometry of galaxies toward a quantitative classification. II. Global radial structure of 261 galaxies in the Virgo and the Ursa Major regions.
Abstract
Digital surface photometry of 261 galaxies in the Virgo and the Ursa Major regions is carried out for the purpose of the comparative and statistical studies of global radial structure of galaxies. The accuracy of the data is evaluated and the correlations with previous data in the literature are examined. The resulting data are presented in the forms of isophotes, major- and minor-axis profiles, generalized radial profiles, and some fundamental photometric parameters.
