On the dynamical method of the orbit determination of visual binary stars.
Abstract
Area factors for the orbits of visual binary stars are suggested. Area factors for elliptical, hyperbolic, and parabolic orbits are defined by projecting the areas of a rectangular or double square on the apparent plane. The rectangular square is formed by two semiaxes of the elliptical orbit or hyperbolic orbit, while the double square is formed by the periastron distance of the parabolic orbit. The parabolic orbit of the visual binary star ADS 8094 is determined using the area factor and observed position data processed by Vondrak's smooth theory.
