Telemetry, Tracking and Command System
Abstract
The Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) system of the Ariane Passenger Payload Experiment (APPLE) geosynchronous satellite provides, in addition to ranging data needed for orbit determination, the up-link for spacecraft command and control and the down-link for system and attitude monitoring. The APPLE base band telecommand and telemetry subsystems use digital modulation and coding techniques. The TTC system primarily operates in the VHF band in both transfer and on-orbit phases, though telemetry also serves as the base band for the C-band beacon in the on-orbit phase.
