Galaxies in steady rotation
Abstract
A self-consistent hydrodynamic theory of the stationary turbulent accretion of a gas in its own gravitational field is presented. The sound velocity has been considered to be constant. The stationary solution for a thin disk is obtained. The tangential velocity and the energy of turbulence are found to be constant depending only on the sound velocity. The surface density is inversely proportional to the distance from the centre of the galaxy.
