Effect of solid particles on the turbulence flow of a round gaseous jet. Mathematical and experimental study
Abstract
The mathematical study aims at developing and validating a numerical solution procedure which predicts turbulent two phase flows consisting of light carrier fluid and a dispersed phase of solid spherical particles of uniform size. The procedure embodies a new two equation turbulence model which accounts for the influence of the dispersed phase on the structure of turbulence. The modeling of the various turbulence correlations is now complete. The finite difference form of the equations was coded; the code was debugged and preliminary results were obtained and compared with the experimental data.
