Investigations on a reaction model for turbulent diffusion flames
Abstract
A study was performed in order to gain new insight into the phenomenology and mathematical modelling of turbulent diffusion flames. The numerical part of the present investigation treats unsteady one-dimensional laminar diffusion flames using an extended kinetic scheme. The result of these predictions yields the instantaneous sub-structure of turbulent diffusion flames. In order to check the validity of the model predictions instantaneous peak temperatures as well as time mean concentrations have been measured in turbulent methane diffusion flames.
