Experimental techniques in three-dimensional turbulent boundary layers
Abstract
Various measuring techniques in three-dimensional turbulent boundary layer research are reviewed, and problems of uncertainty and interaction between probes and flow are discussed. Methods for mean and fluctuating quantities in low speed experimental programs are presented, and influence parameters on readings in the highly turbulent near wall region and possible 'errors' are given.
