Observation of solar flares by scientific satellite
Abstract
Outline of the 7th Japanese Scientific Satellite 'Hinotori' is described. The main objective of this satellite is to observe X-ray and gamma-ray emissions associated with solar flare events. During 16 months operation after its launch on Feb. 21, 1981, Hinotori observed more than 600 solar flare events and produced several important results.
