Shock wave propagation in a liquid
Abstract
The study is concerned with plane and spherical shock waves generated in a liquid due to discontinuous initial conditions. In the analysis presented here, the liquid is assumed to be weakly compressible. The problem is solved using the method of matched asymptotic expansions in terms of a small parameter characterizing the compressibility of the liquid.
