A method for interpreting microwave radiometric measurements from the 'Meteor' satellite
Abstract
A method is described for automating the interpretation of data collected by satellite-borne microwave radiometers operating at the 1.35 and 0.8 cm wavelengths. A method is proposed for the introduction of corrections for loss coefficients, determined in ground conditions by a comparison of a priori and satellite-measured brightness temperatures in reference regions. An analysis of experimental data confirms the stable functioning of the apparatus and the applicability of the method to interpretations of brightness temperature data.
