Reactions of metal ions and their clusters in the gas phase using laser ionization: Ion cyclotron resonance spectroscopy
Abstract
Construction of a second ion cyclotron resonance spectrometer was completed, and a state of the art Nicolet Fourier transform mass spectrometer (FTMS) was put into operation. The FTMS is operating well beyond expectations and, together with a Quanta Ray pulsed Nd:YAG laser, has greatly advanced capabilities for studying atomic metal ion chemistry. Of particular note was the demonstration of the capability of FTMS to perform collision induced dissociation.
