Resonant high-frequency switching-mode regulated DC-DC converters using high-power static induction transistors
Abstract
The most recent power static induction transistors (SITs) suitable for high-frequency high-power conversion and control are surveyed in connection with other new power semiconductor devices. An optimum power SIT drive circuit is introduced that includes a two-channel PWM signal processing system. An improved type of inductive energy-storage resonant chopper-fed switching DC-DC power converter using power SITs is shown to operate efficiently in a switching frequency range of 50 kHz-200 kHz. The transient and steady-state analysis of the resonant direct DC-DC converter circuit treated here is developed by introducing defined control variables and disturbance variables.
