Glueballs: A status report
Abstract
It is expected from quantum chromodynamics (QCD) that glueballs, bound states which contain gluons but no valence quarks, should exist. No conclusive evidence for glueballs has been offered. The expected properties and experimental signatures of glueballs are reviewed and the status of some glueball candidate states are discussed.
