A class of exact solutions of the laminarboundarylayer equations
Abstract
An effort is made to find possible classes of physical flows for which the family of velocity profiles in the boundary layer for nonselfsimilar flows depends only on one parameter. The method of direct integration is used to construct a solution of the boundary layer equation; a numerical solution is obtained by the finite difference method. The analysis of boundary layers on a circular cylinder and a sphere is considered by way of illustration.
