Generation and application of coherent radiation at Lyman-alpha
Abstract
Narrow bandwidth tunable Lyman-alpha light has been used to excite an atomic beam of hydrogen. A resolution of 700 MHz in the VUV was achieved. Also, a double resonance experiment to excite high Rydberg states in H atoms is described.
