Phase conjugate reflection of KrF laser radiation
Abstract
Observations are reported of phase conjugate reflection of KrF laser radiation using both degenerate four wave mixing (DFWM) and stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). By using DFWM reflectivities of approximately 300% have been measured, and the results are in good agreement with a theory for a thermally induced mechanism in the medium. The SBS phase conjugate mirror has been used to correct the aberrations induced on the wavefront in a double pass KrF amplifier, as well as being used as a resonator element in a KrF laser oscillator.
