Cerenkov-type optical parametric oscillation in a 'double' Fabry-Perot interferometer
Abstract
The dynamics of optical parametric oscillations under Cerenkov-type conditions are studied in a double Fabry-Perot interferometer. The optical bistability, the self-pulsing of light intensity, and several other effects possible under these conditions are examined. The optical bistability appears as a hard self-excitation of the optical parametric oscillations. Also discussed is the feasibility of the Cerenkov-type parametric oscillation in the double interferometer placed directly in a laser resonator.
