The IMS source book: Guide to the International Magnetospheric Study data analysis
Abstract
IMS satellite observations, ground-based observations, and IMS workshops are the main topics which are covered. Particular attention is given to the data from ISEE-1 for the IMS period, the availability of GEOS data for IMS research, the Los Alamos synchronous orbit data set, examples of multi-instrumental studies of auroral phenomena, and magnetometer networks in Northern Europe. Also considered are Antarctic observations available for IMS correlative analyses, midlatitude magnetometer chains during the IMS, the origin and evolution of the Coordinated Data Analysis Workshop process, ISEE work on collisionless shocks (CDAW-3), ISEE magnetopause observations, and a summary of European IMS workshops.
