An iterative scheme for performance modeling of slotted ALOHA packet radio networks
Abstract
Networks of nodes which communicate over a shared broadcast medium using the slotted ALOHA access protocol are considered. The network topology is arbitrary and the nodes serve as sources (and sinks) of traffic as well as repeaters which forward messages to other nodes. Since exact solution appears to be intractable, an iterative scheme is proposed. The results generated by this scheme are found to be excellent approximations to the real behavior.
