Modelling of the irreversibility of the heat and mass transfer - Similarity of irreversibility
Abstract
The system of basic equations of the theory of similarity connects the conservation laws of mass, momentum and energy and leads to dimensionless numbers for modelling the heat and mass transfer processes. But a fundamental feature - the degree of irreversibility of the processes cannot be established by means of the known dimensionless numbers. For modelling the irreversibility of the transfer processes, to the basic equations of the theory of similarity we add the entropy balance equation which allows us to obtain new dimensionless numbers with clear physical meaning.
