Combined forced and free convection between parallel plates
Abstract
The method of false transient has been used to numerically solve the problem of two dimensional developing laminar flow between horizontal parallel planes with local heat sources prescribed on the boundaries. The numerical solution corroborates the experimentally obtained flow contours. Practical implications for the electronic packaging industry, with regard to heat source placement, are discussed.
