Memory and computational requirements for tracking in the advanced computer system
Abstract
Computational and memory requirements of various tracking algorithms were examined for possible application with the 9020 replacement computer. For a wide range of algorithms, including those most likely to be of interest, there are no technological factors which would significantly impact the choice of algorithms given the present state of computer technology. Further, within the next few years, technological advances will totally eliminate memory and computational tracking requirements from significantly impacting system design. It is concluded that the only substantive limitation currently imposed on the selection of tracking algorithms is the ability of the system designer to analyze, specify, test and evaluate the most promising algorithm.
