An experimental and analytical study of spray flow fields formed by liquid-gas coaxial injector elements (2)
Abstract
An experimental and analytical study of the spray flow field formed by recessed post concentric tube injector elements is presented. And also the analytical model which was derived by the author was applied to calculate the spray flow field under the same conditions as those of experiments which had been reported in various literature. By the experimental works the following results were noted. The recessed post elements exhibited good mixing efficiencies between the liquid droplets and the gas phase, compared to the flush face elements. And the coefficient k, which is the ratio of the half width of liquid phase mass flux to that of the gas phase velocity, was proved to be the analogous Schmidt number of the spray, if it was considered to have the average density of a two phase flow.
