On the structural organization of an onboard interface for space scientific instrumentation
Abstract
It is found that the IEC and Microbus standards taken separately do not fully satisfy the principal requirements imposed on an onboard interface for spacecraft scientific instrumentation. It is proposed that these requirements can best be satisfied by an IEC-Microbus hybrid. The following principal operating modes of this hybrid variant are examined in detail: asynchronous mode with sequential and parallel address, synchronous mode with sequential and parallel address, and asynchronous duplex mode with sequential and parallel address.
