A high speed TDMA Communication Link demonstration
Abstract
The development of a demonstration 250 Mbps TDMA Communication Link is presented, and test results are reported. To establish this demonstration link, a frame synchronizer, a TDMA demodulator, and a TDMA modulator were developed. The prototype system is described with emphasis placed on the test results. Bit error performance, acquisition, characteristics, bit count integrity, and the ability of the station to stay in the network are evaluated. The correlation between the test results and the analytically predicted performance is discussed. Test results indicate that a communication station will not disturb the TDMA network at any E(b)/N(o); however, there is a minimum E(b)/N(o) below which the station's ability to remain continuously in the network is impaired.
