The formation and growth of waves produced by the flat impingement of two jets
Abstract
A numerical investigation of the formation and growth of impact waves produced by two flat impinging jets is carried out. The method is based on the Marker-and-Cell technique and from the resulting plots, the wave formation can be clearly seen near the point of impact and the growth of the wave is illustrated on the resulting sheet. The wave characteristics are in good agreement with the experimental work of previous authors.
