Vibrational spectra of the fundamental tone of spontaneous emission of CO molecules in nonequilibrium conditions
Abstract
The paper presents results of calculations of the relative intensity distribution in the IR emission spectra of CO molecules at small optical density of the emitting gas and low pressure. It is assumed that the vibrational temperature of CO, being a variable, differs from the gas temperature, and that the spectral width of the instrumental function exceeds the mean interval between neighboring vibrational-rotational lines. Calculations are compared with experimental data, and it is shown that the difference between vibrational temperature and gas temperature has a significant effect on the form of the CO spectra.
