A theoretical study of the characteristics of molecular laser excitation at difference frequencies with optical pumping under saturation conditions
Abstract
The difference-band gain characteristics under saturation of an individual rotational-vibrational transition in the pumping channel are examined. Expressions are obtained which provide a way to determine the depth of pumping radiation penetration and the integral gain. The dependence of the gain on the active medium and excitation pulse parameters is studied using as an example a two-component mixture of CO2 isotope molecules.
