Stimulated Raman scattering in a pumping field with a phase modulated by a Markovian process
Abstract
Stokes component amplification in a pumping field phase-modulated by a discrete Markovian process is examined in the specified field approximation with allowance for correlation between successive realizations of a random phase. An exact system of equations is obtained for the Stokes intensity, and its behavior under steady-state conditions is investigated. It is shown that phase modulation results in lower noise conversion efficiency.
