Waveguidetype solutions for light beams with nonlocal selfdefocusing in the geometricoptics approximation
Abstract
An equation for the Wigner function in the form of a kinetic equation is derived from a quasioptics equation with nonlocal nonlinearity in the geometricoptics approximation. The KorobkinSazonov (1981) method for obtaining exact solutions is extended to this equation. A model of the thermal selfdefocusing of light in a medium at rest is considered as an example. For certain types of beams, exact solutions are found which describe the propagation of light beams without selffocusing.
