Allowing for the effect of a weak inhomogeneity in a boundary-layer flow on its stability characteristics
Abstract
The effect of nonparallelism in a boundary-layer flow on the flow stability characteristics is analyzed in a linear approximation using flow past a plate as an example. The analysis allows for pressure gradients due to viscous-nonviscous interaction at large Mach numbers. A simplified method for analyzing the effects of nonparallelism is proposed.
