The viscosity and thermal conductivity of gas mixtures at high densities
Abstract
Approximate formulas, based on Enskog's method, are obtained for calculating the viscosity and thermal conductivity of dense gas mixtures. At the zero-density limit, these formulas become the Sutherland-Vasil'eva expressions. The present approach is used to calculate the viscosity of a helium-nitrogen mixture at 0 deg C and at pressures up to 500 x 10 to the 5th Pa. Good agreement was found between results of calculations and experimental data.
