The stability of a laminar boundary layer on an elastic surface
Abstract
An asymptotic method in the framework of linear theory is used to study the behavior of neutral stability curves for a laminar boundary layer along an elastic surface at a Reynolds number tending to infinity. It is shown that, for specific properties of the active surface, the instability can vanish completely, at least for sufficiently high Reynolds numbers.
