Method for calculating jet noise in the presence of a shielding surface
Abstract
A calculation method is proposed which takes into account jet-noise shielding by structural elements of the aircraft. The jet is considered as a complex source of noise whose characteristics are determined on the basis of detailed data concerning the microstructure of the flow in the jet-mixing zone. Results of calculations using this method are compared with experimental data and with theoretical results obtained using a simplified noise-source model.
