A nonlinear study of combined free and forced convection in flows due to a rotating disk
Abstract
An attempt is made to obtain some information on the effects of heat sources or sinks on the combined free and forced convection over a rotating disk with and without frictional heating effects, when the working fluid is either air or water. The primary objective of the present investigation is to solve the combined free and forced convection problem in fluid flows due to a rotating disk including the effects of internal heat generation. In order to incorporate all the considered effects, the similarity transformations are used in conjunction with a nondimensionalization procedure different from that of Luk et al. (1970). This makes it possible to reduce the governing partial differential system to a nonlinear ordinary differential system, characterizing the combined free and forced convection over a rotating disk.
