Quantum processes in an electromagnetic wave field
Abstract
A model of two waves propagating in the same direction with different frequencies and arbitrary polarizations (a bichromatic wave) was considered by Liul'ka (1977), and expressions were obtained for the probabilities of certain quantum effects for an external field of this type. The study presented here generalizes these results for the case of an arbitrary number of coherent waves propagating collinearly. The probabilities of processes of the decay of a neutrino into a pion and a muon and of the decay of an electron (or positron) into a pion (+ or -) and a neutrino are calculated as a function of field-dependent parameters for a bichromatic wave field.
