Experimental study of the frequency characteristics of gas ring lasers with additional feedback
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on the frequency characteristics of a gas ring laser (He-3: Ne-20: Ne-22 = 15: 1: 1). Attention is given to the dependence of variations of beat frequency and its mean value during a 2pi change of feedback phase upon beat frequency in the absence of external coupling and in the case when the operating current exceeds the threshold value. A strong-coupling mode is achieved, and internal backscattering coefficients are specified for the counterpropagating-wave beat frequency range.
