The present state and the principal trends in the development of the 'Intersputnik' system
Abstract
The Intersputnik communications system which serves to exchange radio and television programs, telephone and telegraphic communications services, and other forms of information between East Bloc countries is described. The constitution and technical parameters of the communications facilities are considered, and the organization of news program traffic is addressed. Transmission changes in 1982 are given, and prospects for developing the system in the coming years are described, including plans for establishing new channel groups, new transmitters, and new regulations. Plans for improving the organization's operation by converting to a new form of financial management are discussed.
