Error propagation in descrambling
Abstract
Error propagation through descramblers is described quantitatively by the ratio between output and input errors. After determining the relation between the error sequences at the output and input ports of both reset and self-synchronizing descramblers, it is shown that in the former case the error ratio takes the value of 1 independently of the input error statistics, while in the latter it depends on the descrambler characteristics and input error statistics.
