Proposal for a robust multistatic detection strategy
Abstract
A binomial multistatic detection strategy called the 1-out-of-N-detector is introduced. Detection is announced if at least one of the possible N receivers observes a local threshold crossing. The main advantages of the proposed concept are computational ease, narrow communication bandwidth, and satisfactory operation if terrain masking occurs. Compared to the optimum multistatic architecture these advantages outweigh relatively small degradation of receiver performance.
