Calculation of the unsteady flow through relatively moving blade rows and the unsteady blade forces
Abstract
The fluctuations in blade force produced by the relative motion of the stationary and rotating rows of an axial turbine, (nozzle excitation), are calculated for frictionless incompressible flow with a surface-singularity method. This takes account of the vortex wakes of both rows and the variation of their paths with time. Results for a two row configuration with axial inlet flow and near axial outlet flow are shown.
