Servosystem for the athermalization of a germanium lens
Abstract
A simple electronically controlled servosystem developed to athermalize the germanium lens of a radiometer operating in the infrared waveband is described. The system athermalization is demonstrated, with the result that the radiometer signal is held to within 95% of maximum for a + or - 20 C lens temperature change; this compares with a signal loss of over 90% with no athermalization.
