Test methods for telemetry systems and subsystems. Volume 2. Test methods for telemetry RF subsystems
Abstract
Test procedures used to verify and/or evaluate the performance of the receiving antenna and the pedestal drive and control system are described. The maximum angular velocity and acceleration for any operational mode are determined. The performance parameters of telemetry RF amplifiers are measured. The range of linear operation is determined by measuring the intermodulation (IM) products, gain compression level, power gain, bandwidth, intercept point, 3rd order IM threshold, voltage standing, wave ratio, noise figure, and gain variation due to temperature and supply voltage.
